Refrigerant compositions include mixtures of pentafiuorodimethyl ether and a second component, wherein the second component is ammonia, dimethyl ether, cyclopropane, propane or propylene. The invention also relates to azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition which comprise admixtures of effective amounts of pentafluorodimethyl ether and ammonia, dimethyl ether, cyclopropane, propane or propylene.
