PURPOSE: To display a sharp endoscope image resulting from correction and replacement into image data with uniform sensitivity and color tone when an image guide is inserted into a coronary artery of a human body to observe and diagnose a disease part and to attain reproduction and display of a transient phenomenon by mounting a recording and reproducing function for compressed digital image data. CONSTITUTION: An image processing section 200 is provided with a coordinate, sensitivity and color tone correction table reading data at a high speed and data to correct the transmission characteristic of an image guide of an endoscoping catheter are registered to the sensitivity and color tone correction table in advance. In the case of lumen endoscopy observation and diagnosis, data in the correction table are directly read synchronously with an output video signal from a video camera. Thus, a sharp endoscopic image in which uneven color tone and sensitivity for each picture element specific to the image guide is corrected is displayed, recorded and reproduced. |
