PURPOSE: To enhance a color forming speed by a coupler compsn. for pressure- sensitive recording containing a coupler based on a multivalent metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative and a compd. represented by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION: A melting method melting one or more kind of a salicylic acid derivative and a multivalent metal compd., for example, multivalent metal oxide to produce a coupler compsn. for pressure-sensitive recording or a double decomposition method allowing one or more kind of a salt of a water-soluble salicylic acid derivative such as an alkali metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative and a water-soluble multivalent compd., for example, sulfate such zinc sulfate to act in the presence of water to produce the coupler compsn. can be adapted. In the coupler compsn. for pressure-sensitive recording, an oligomer of a styrene derivative, pref., an oligomer of about dimer to incoramer of a styrene derivative is added other than a coupler based on a multivalent metal salt of a salicylic acid derivative and a compd. represented by formula (wherein X1 -X3 are an alkyl group or an arylene group). The coupler compsn. enhanced in color forming speed under low temp. environment is obtained. |
