<p>PURPOSE: To execute a stable continuous casting and rolling work without meandering by providing a bridle device for imparting tension to a slab under high temp. environment controlled in atmosphere on the upstream side of a rolling mill. CONSTITUTION: The thin cast slab 1 which is pulled out from a twin roll 2 and partially solidified is cooled in a cooling zone after rolling it by a hot rolling mill through the bridle device, coiled by a coiler 8 and formed into a coil 9. Two bridle rolls 12a, 12b constitute one set, the horizontal and height positions of respective rolls are different from each other and the winding angle of the cast slab 1 from pinch rolls 3 is made so as to be >=180 deg.C. The bridle device 4 is turnable with a rotary shaft as a center, and the turning operation is corrected when tension is changed due to the variation of rolling speed and meandering over the allowable range is generated due to the wear of roll crown thereby returning the material to be rolled to the center. Thus the operation is stabilized by this centering function.</p> |
