<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory development of rotational force at all times and guarantee effective ignition and combustion of air-fuel mixture over the whole drive range by connecting an intake pipe device with one common resonance chamber per cylinder row, respectively, and connecting two resonance chambers with one common intake pipe. SOLUTION: At least two inlet valves for exchanging gas 4 to 6 are provided in each cylinder 3 in two cylinder rows 1, 2, at least one valve 4 from among inlet valves is opened and closed at all times, and the other valves 5, 6 are operated sometimes. In this engine, gas exchange pipe passages 11, 15, 16 are individually assembled into a cylinder head structure per inlet valve. The gas exchange pipe passages 11, 15, 16 are connected with at least two intake pipes 12, 17 and are connected with one resonance chamber 13, 14 per cylinder row. Both resonance chambers 13, 14 are mutually connected by connection pipes 18, 21, a common intake pipe 19 is connected with the connection pipe 18, and a throttle valve 20 is equipped in the intake pipe 19.</p> |
