PURPOSE: To prevent coming off caused by shock during travelling and increase protecting capability to damage by installing an attaching part of a cover for protecting an outer rim of a vehicle wheel in at least two different concentric radial positions and making the surface properties of a covered part different from those of the rim. CONSTITUTION: A rim 7 of a light alloy wheel 1 is formed by integrating an outer rim flange 3 and an inner rim flange 6, and a protecting cover 4 having an almost C-shaped cross section is fit to the outside surface of the outer rim flange 3. The protecting cover 4 comprises hook-shaped upper fixing rib 16 and lower fixing rib 17 for constituting a fixing part, and a tongue 18, and protects the outside circumferential surface of the outer rim flange 3 from damage caused by contact of the protecting cover 4 with a curbstone when a tire comes in contact therewith. The protecting cover 4 is made of a material having surface properties different from those of the rim 7, such as stainless steel, plated steel, titanium, or synthetic resin to increase scratch resistance. |
