PURPOSE: To improve coating processability, easy washing finish and washing finish depth uniformity by providing a concrete setting retarder layer on one side of tarpaulin paper laminated via a specific interlayer. CONSTITUTION: A setting retarder layer is provided on one side of tarpaulin paper made by mutually laminating each two sheets of (reinforced) single- lustered kraft paper at 27-50g/m<2> via an atactic polypropylene interlayer at a coating level of 20-50g/m<2> . Specifically, a setting retarder prepared by incorporating a mixture of an oxycarboxylic acid (salt) such as gluconic acid or ketogluconic acid and a saccharide such as sucrose or maltose at the weight ratio of (5:95) to (95:5) with 15-60wt.%, based on the weight of the retarder after coated and dried, of a stickiness-proofing component <=40Lμm in particle diameter such as baked diatomaceous earth or bentonite and, according as needed, thickening agent, dispersant, water etc., is applied at 3-60g/m<2> (on a dry basis) to the surface of the tarpaulin paper. The opposite side to the setting retarder layer may also be provided with a back coating layer.
