PURPOSE: To provide a felt having little thermal-deformation property, free from deteriorating effect on the working environment, easily obtainable and useful as a material for automotive interior trim, etc., from a conjugate fiber composed of a high melting core part and a low melting sheath part of the same kind of thermoplastic resins wherein the sheath polymer has a specified melting point. CONSTITUTION: A web is made of a conjugate fiber consisting of a high melting core part and a low melting sheath part of the same kind of thermoplastic resin materials (a polyester resin, a polyamide resin, etc.), and the sheath part has a melting point of >=150 deg.C. The web is subjected to a heat treatment at a temperature not higher than the melting point of the core part and not lower than the melting point of the sheath part to fuse the conjugate fibers to each other. The obtained felt 1 is placed in a mold for cold press in a softened state under heating, and a polypropylene nonwoven fabric 3 is laminated on it through a polyethylene sheet 2 placed between them, and they are pressed while cold to form a ceiling material 4 for an automobile, etc. |
