<p>PURPOSE: To provide the subject ink containing a pigment, water, a water-soluble polymer and a specific monomer or polymer (or its metal salt), having excellent ejection stability, scratch resistance and water resistance and suitable for an ink-jet recording printer, copying machine, etc. CONSTITUTION: This ink contains (A) a pigment, (B) water, (C) a water-soluble polymer (e.g. PVA having a weight-average molecular weight of 2,000-1,000,000) and (D) a monomer of formula I (X and Y are each COOH or CH2 OH), formula II or formula III or its polymer (or its metal salt) [e.g. glucono-δ-lactone, starch or carboxymethyl cellulose (calcium salt)]. The component D preferably has a water-solubility of <=5wt.%.</p> |
