<p>PURPOSE: To knit a fabric having piles suitable for socks or gloves by no use of a special pile formation knitter. CONSTITUTION: When the neck of socks is circular-knitted with ground yarns, tuck wales (b) are formed by tuck stitching every a certain number of wales (a) and a stretch yarn such as a rubber string is connected only to the tuck wales b and inserted under tension so that it may skip over other wales (a) to shrink the intervals between the wales (a) and develop piles on both side of the tuck wale (b), resulting in forming rib stitches.</p> |
