FIELD: mechanical engineering; load-handling facilities; self-propelled cranes. SUBSTANCE: slewing mechanism has planetary reduction gear mounted in housing which has sun gear on driving shaft coupled with hydraulic motor, two crown wheels, one of which is secured on housing and other, inform of disk, is coupled with driven shaft of turntable drive. Planet pinions are mounted in space limited by disk of second crown wheel and fixed disk of brake made axially movable. To provide braking or stopping of mechanism, control pressure of brake is removed and disks and planet pinion placed between disks are clamped by springs together to stop reduction gear. Mounting of planet pinions between disks in preset clearance provides floating of planet pinions and possibility of self-alignment, depending on load.
