The main components of the appts. fitted on the outside of the door are a magnetic stripe reader (2), a decimal keypad (3), an activation circuit (4), three indicator lamps (5-7) and a buzzer (8) in a metallic housing (1) which can serve as a door handle. The card inserted into a slot (R) beings all circuits into operation including a circuit on the inside which detects the position of the bolts. Also on the inside are an internal key for activating or locking the appts., and a battery module for mains-independent power supply.
