Forces are absorbed which act upon the table base (2) perpendicularly to the main cutting force direction (10) exclusive of at least one anti-friction guideway (6,7) which can be playfree or prestressed. The forces acting in the main cutting direction are absorbed up to an amount of at least one anti-friction guideway (6,7) and one slideway (4). On an additional slideway (3) a functioning clearance is provided by a gap of a few micrometres.
