In a process for securing a press fitting (48) to a tube end (47, 93), the press fitting (48) is subjected by at least one press (1, 61, 101) to a radially and inwardly directed pressure from outside in such a way that the press fitting (48) and the tube end (47, 93) are plastically deformed.
