Non-deterministic generator of truly random numbers e.g. for Monte Carlo simulation, games of chance and cryptography

A noise generator (1) consists of several non-inverting amplifiers in series connected to a power pack (5) and a high-pass filter (2), with the generator and its filter electromagnetically screened to minimise interference. The bipolar A-D converter (3) possesses a resolution of 8 bits and a measuring range of from - 2.5 V to + 2.5 V. The scanning is controlled by the computer (4) that has a scanning frequency of 1 k Hz. The converter supplies whole number values corresponding to the voltages measured.
