Electronically controlled ABS braking system for motor vehicle
摘要
The braking system has a first small diameter piston (31) directly moved by the brake pedal and with a larger diameter piston (32) in a floating position. The wheel brakes are each fitted with a servo driven pressure controllers (4, 5, 6) which vary the brake pressure for dynamic braking control e.g. ABS. If a failure is detected in the electronic control the master brake cylinder reverts to direct hydraulic pressure control. The two pistons lock together following electrical failure and provide a large flow brake control brake valve which enables emergency braking to be applied. In the event of electrical failure the control valves between the master brake cylinder and the wheel brake circuits are held open.
