Cosmetic compsns. contg. an alkyl and/or alkenyl oligoglycoside sulphate (I) and a silicone (II) are new. Pref. (I) is a prod. obtained by reacting an oligoglycoside of formula R1O(G)p (where R1 = 4-22C alkyl or alkenyl, G = a 5-6C sugar residue, esp. glucose, and p = 1-10) with a sulphating agent and neutralising the prod. with an aq. base. (II) is selected from dimethylpolysiloxanes; methylphenylpolysiloxanes; cyclic silicones; amino-, polyether-, epoxy-, fluorine- or alkyl-modified silicones; and silicones modified with fatty acids and/or alcohols. The compsns. contain 0.5-25 wt.% (I) and 0.01-10 wt.% (II). They may also contain cationic polymers.
