The polyamide film has a high shrinking rate without degrading strength and oxygen protecting property. The polyamide film useful for food pakaging is prepared by the steps of: (A) extruding into a tube-form a nylon 6 copolymer which contains a polyamide consisting of 0.5 to 5 wt. % of acid and base residue based on the total resin and cooling immediately; (B) subjecting the product to simultaneous-biaxial-drawing; (C) finally, cooling immediately after the heat treatment procedure at a temparature ranging from the above drawing temperature to that of 170 deg. C.
