Staple for blind fixing of covering strip along edge of supporting panel

The staple, esp. for fixing a vehicle windscreen, consists of an elongated plate (1) for fastening to the covering strip (13), made from a plastic material of low elasticity, having a retaining lug (2) situated at right angles to the plate and extending in a lengthwise direction. The free end of the lug has a locking lever (3), connected to it by a thin moulded hinge (5) and capable of rotation relative to the lug to fasten the latter beneath the lower edge (15) of the windscreen (14). The locking lever (3) has a short arm (6) which lies parallel to the plate (1) of the staple when in its initial position and fitting beneath the edge of the windscreen when rotated to place the covering strip against the windscreen's outer surface.
