A vehicle security system comprises a security control unit 113, a siren module 112, a central door locking system 114, a boot lock 119 and a receiver 115 all connected to the security control unit 113 through the siren module 112. If the siren module 112 is disabled, the systems 111, 113, 114, 115, 119 which communicate through it will not function and vehicle security is thereby improved. The siren module 112 includes a back-up battery 116 which can be used to provide back-up power to support legitimate vehicle entry in the event of a failure of the main vehicle power supply 29. |
