The biological chemical activator for the purification of wastewater has the result that foul water can be discharged into rivers, the sea or used for irrigation following treatment. It is a preparation comprising: ammonium nitrate, diammonium phosphate, urea, dextrose, calcium carbonate, hydrated calcium gluconate and magnesium carbonate and characterized in that it has the necessary calcium and magnesium contents for the satisfactory growth of microorganisms. The products are mixed with water at a temperature between 40 and 60 degree C to ensure complete dissolution. On occasions a culture of micro- organisms capable of producing abundant enzymes which accelerate the treatment can be included in the treatment to activate the organic material. Improves and regenerates cesspits and septic tanks reactivating the sludges and reducing foul odours. Liquidizes the sludges and makes their removal easier, and results in the faecal sediment being improved as a fertilizer for crops.
