PURPOSE: To effectively remove NOx in waste combustion gas by introducing waste combustion gas into a fluidizing medium on which pulverized carbon is stuck to adsorb nitrogen monoxide on the fluidizing medium, oxidizing it to nitrogen dioxide on the surface thereof and also using the pulverized carbon as a reducing agent to decompose nitrogen dioxide into carbon dioxide and nitrogen. CONSTITUTION: In the cast dust contg. waste combustion gas of a diesel engine or the like is made harmless, after a fluidizing medium is fed into a gas dispersing plate 14, while the gas dispersing plate 14 is rotated through a rotating shaft concurrently used as a treated waste gas pipe 24, pulverized carbon contg. waste combustion gas is fed into a casing 10. The fluidizing medium is moved to the inner surface of the gas dispersing plate 14 by centrifugal force to form a fluidized bed by gas jetted inwards from the gas dispersing plate 14. On the other hand, the pulverized carbon is stuck and caught on the fluidizing medium. NO in the waste gas is adsorbed on the fluidizing medium and oxidized to NO2 by oxygen in the waste gas, and the NO2 is reduced by the pulverized carbon stuck on the fluidizing medium into carbon dioxide and nitrogen. |
