<p>PURPOSE: To provide a pyroelectric sensor which has a small size and long service life and can be driven with a small amount of power under a low voltage. CONSTITUTION: A pyroelectric infrared-ray detecting element 8 provided on a mobile plate 5 which oscillates in the direction shown by the arrow 103 receives infrared rays 100 from an object to be detected made incident from an infrared-ray introducing port 102. When the mobile plate 5 oscillates, the apparent light receiving area of the detecting element 8 increases or decreases and received infrared-rays are modulated. The plate 5 constitutes part of a driving device which operates on the same principle as that of a galvanometer.</p> |
