PURPOSE: To obtain a system for producing the two-dimensional signal of a three-dimensional image in which a three-dimensional data can be handled easily as an image signal while keeping compatibility with a conventional two-dimensional signal processing system over the entire process for capturing, storing, processing the image signal, and reproducing the three-dimensional data. CONSTITUTION: When the image of a three-dimensional object is picked up by means of a TV camera, the TV camera captures a 'plane image signal' and, at the same time, converts the data of distance between the image pickup point and a currently scanning object into an image level signal to produce a 'depth image signal'. Under 'memory' mode, two types of image signal comprising the 'plane image signal' and the 'depth image signal' are recorded by means of two synchronized VTRs or a VTR which can record two image signals simultaneously. |
