The scaffolding tower (1) has one of its sides (4) resting on a trolley (2) when in a transporting position, and a base (5) on which it rests for use. The base of the scaffolding has slide pieces (6) which act in conjunction with lengthwise guides (9) in the trolley (2). The scaffolding is joined to the trolley by at least one articulated support (10) enabling the scaffolding to pivot between a transporting and used position around a support point (11). The scaffolding has a hoist (16) enabling it to move along the trolley. The support point of the support on the scaffolding is situated on or near the side (8) opposite the side (4) resting on the trolley in the transport position.
