PURPOSE: To reduce processes and to prevent the generation of peeling, crack or the like by impregnating the gap between carbon fibers with a precursor carbon to be a matrix and carbonizing/graphitizing the precursor to make a C/C composite. CONSTITUTION: As the carbon fiber, for example, a carbon fiber cloth composed of a two-dimensional woven fabric of a PAN based (HT) carbon fiber is used and is made 50vol.% fiber deposition ratio and one direction in fiber orientation, and then dipped into methanol, in which carbon black of 20-80mm particle diameter is dispersed, to deposite carbon black on the surface as a filler by the content of 10-20wt.%. The carbon fibers are laminated, press-tightened with iron plates 3 and 4, spacers 5 and 6, bolts and nuts 7 and 8 or the like to be held with a jig at a prescribed thickness in the state that the carbon black is stuck to the surface of the carbon fiber 1, vacuum impregnated with a liquid pitch which is melted at 250 deg.C to have 1cp viscosity, solidified at a room temp., charged into a hot isostatic pressing unit (HIP) to be carbonized at 600-700 deg.C, then the jig is removed and the result is graphitized at 2500 deg.C. |
