PURPOSE: To obtain a polyisocyanate composition which enables satisfactory foaming and excellent filling of an intricate mold and gives a rigid foam excellent in heat insulation, weight reduction, and sound-absorbing properties by using a specific modified organic polyisocyanate and a tolylene diisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises a modified organic polyisocyanate having isocyanurate rings and a tolylene diisocyanate compound. The modified polyisocyanate is obtained from an organic polyisocyanate which has undergone partial conversion to urethane and/or urea bonds, by adding a trimerization catalyst, a promoter, and a surfactant thereto to convert up to 20wt.% of all isocyanate groups into isocyanurate groups and adding a terminator thereto according to need. This composition has a satisfactory compatibility with polyols and other various ingredients, has an excellent long-term storage stability, and is excellent in foaming and filling of an intricate mold. It gives a foam which is excellent in heat insulation, weight reduction, sound-absorbing properties, and long-term cell stability. |
