PURPOSE: To realize quick focusing and to prevent the energy of a battery from being wastefully consumed. CONSTITUTION: This camera is provided with an auxiliary light selection means selecting either of a built-in auxiliary light means 502a and an externally attached auxiliary light means 503a which is attached to the camera as an auxiliary means based on current information on a subject distance in the case the auxiliary light is required at the time of autofocusing. Since parallax with reference to a photographing optical axis is small in the auxiliary light means 502a and it is large in the auxiliary light means 503a, the current information on the subject distance is obtained and the auxiliary light means 502a and 503a are properly used based on the obtained information. |
