PURPOSE: To improve reception reliability against an in regard to transmission lines error. CONSTITUTION: A cell pointer detecting part 122 detects a cell pointer, and supplies a cell pointer value to an arithmetic circuit 113, and performs a parity arithmetic operation for a received cell pointer value, and a comparator 114 judges coincidence/non-coincidence by comparing the arithmetic result of parity with a parity bit attached on a received cell pointer, which enables the error detection of the cell pointer to be performed. The offset value of the received cell pointer from the detecting part 112 and the expected value of the offset value obtained from an expectation generation circuit 115 are inputted to a selector 116, and the selector 116 supplies either value to a control part 119 by the result of coincidence/noncoincidence of transmission/reception parity obtained from the comparator 114. When the coincidence between the transmission/reception parity is obtained, it is assumed that no error exists in the received cell pointer value, then, it is supplied to a write address control part 119, and when noncoincidence is obtained between them, the expected value of the offset value obtained from the expectation generation circuit 115 is supplied to the control part 119.
