PURPOSE: To lessen or reduce to zero the plate thickness of a common electrode by taking a board with a micro-lens array formed thereon as a common electrode on one side of a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION: A thin glass plate or plastic film 1 is bonded to the surface of a microlens array base 4. A metal 5 such as Cr or Al is spattered onto the bonded base 1 to form a black mask BM pattern. An ITO transparent electrode 6 is spattered on the whole surface of the base having the MB formed thereon. This is bonded as a common electrode to a TFT base 2, and a liquid crystal 3 is injected thereto. Instead of the glass plate or plastic film 1, a transparent overcoat layer of an inorganic material such as SOG(spin on glass) (SiO2 ) used in semiconductor or a transparent overcoat layer of an epoxy, polyimide or acrylic organic material can be used. |
