摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To provide a remote pointing device and the remote manipulation system which eliminate the need to use the remote pointing device in contact with a flat surface. CONSTITUTION: The remote pointing device 12 is provided with a displacement sensor 22 which electrically detects the displacement of the remote pointing device 12 and an indication signal generating means 24 which generates an indication signal to be sent to a processor 11 on the basis of the output of the displacement sensor 22 so as to move a cursor and/or switch a window. Further, the processor 11 is provided with a cursor control means 15 and/or a window control means 16 which moves the cursor and/or switches the window on the basis of the indication signal. The displacement sensor 22 electrically detects the displacement of the remote pointing device 12, so the remote pointing device 12 need not be used in contact with a flat surface.</p>
