摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To realize optimum entrance to an engine start mode by entering the engine start mode when engine speed satisfies the condition, a value higher than the set value, to control the torque of a clutch so as to be a desired value and setting this set value according to the load required for an engine. CONSTITUTION: A transmission connected to an engine 2 to be installed in a vehicle, a stepless transmission 4, for example, comprises a drive pulley 16, a driven pulley 18 and the belt 20 belted around these pulleys. The stepless transmission 4 is provided with a clutch 46 whose torque is electronically adjusted. In addition, the control means 8 of a clutch control device 6 controls the duty of each of the solenoid valves 56 through 60 of the stepless transmission 4 based on the signals input from sensors 72 through 84 and control the belt ratio (transmission ratio) of the belt 20, and also adjust the torque of the clutch 46, controlling the engagement and disengagement of the clutch 46.</p>
