PURPOSE: To provide a flaw detection apparatus by which a precise range can be designated easily and quickly while a figure expressing an inspection range being designated is being observed by displaying a face image to be inspected and the figure on a display means so as to be overlapped. CONSTITUTION: A pattern (a pattern to be inspected) DG on a board to be inspected and a continuous straight line DL which expresses the outer shape of an inspection range being designated are displayed on a display screen so as to be overlapped. Then, a cross-shaped mouse cursor MC which is displayed simultaneously is moved on the display screen by moving a mouse, a left button for the mouse is clicked in a desired position around the pattern DG to be inspected, and input points DPa1 to DPa14 as vertexes for a polygon which expresses an inspection range are displayed sequentially. An operator continues this operation, and the designation of the inspection range is finished at a stage at which the continuous straight line DL becomes a blocked-up line. |
