This invention describes the compound 8-chloro-11-[1- [(5-methyl-3-pyridyl)-methyl]-4-piperidylidene]-6,11-dihydro-5H- benzo-[5,6]-cycloheptal-[1,2-b]-pyridine fumarate and a process for preparing it and pharmaceutical compositions containing it. This compound has dual activity as a PAF antagonist and antihistaminic and has improved stability which makes it particularly useful for the preparation of drugs.
