<p>PURPOSE: To suppress color noise of an image comparatively simply without distinction without increasing the hardware and software scale and extending the processing time. CONSTITUTION: Luminance data subject to block processing by a block processing circuit 10 are given to a DC transformation circuit 11, in which the data are DC-transformed and a DCT coefficient is obtained. The DCT coefficient is given to a flatness detection circuit 12, in which whether the luminance signal is flat (less change) or not is checked. When the flat luminance signal is detected, the DCT coefficient as to R-Y, B-Y signals corresponding to the flat luminance signal is suppressed by coefficient suppression circuits 22, 32. The color noise for the flat luminance signal is suppressed and the color noise in a reproduced image is made inconspicuous.</p> |
