摘要 PURPOSE: To eliminate the rotation of a synchronous motor at the time of charging by controlling AC power from a external AC power source by a controller, and matching the direction of a magnetic field formed by each field coil of each phase in the direction of the electric angle of a rotor detected by electric angle detecting means. CONSTITUTION: When a controller 8 chopper controls to start charging of a traveling storage battery 4, the electric angle of a rotor is detected before a current flows to a field coil used as a chopper coil, and the direction of the field of the coil is so regulated as to balance the coil with a permanent magnet in response to the angle. That is, the controller 8 controls the conducting timing of the switching element of a power converter 6 to control the AC power from an external AC power source 10 to supply desired current to the coil, the current is controlled to bring the electric angle of the line of magnetic force of the coil into coincidence with that of the permanent magnet, thereby preventing the rotation of a rotor.
