PURPOSE: To enable a marine vessel to go astern rapidly without generating turning motion. CONSTITUTION: A propeller pot 10 is fixed to the lower end part of a strut 3 rotatably hung from a stern part 1 through a bearing 4. An outer propeller shaft 8a with a front side propeller 9a fixed to the rear end part, and an inner propeller shaft 8b with a rear side propeller 9b fixed to the rear end part are rotatably supported in the propeller pot 10. The lower end of a vertical shaft 2 in the strut 3 is connected to both propeller shafts 8a, 8b. A bevel gear 17a at one end of a normal rotating hollow shaft 16a fitted to the outside of an input shaft 15 connected to a main engine 13, and a bevel gear 17b at one end of a reverse rotating hollow shaft 16b are meshed with a bevel gear 21 at the upper end part of the vertical shaft 2. Clutches 19a, 19b are provided between the input shaft 15 and the normal and reverse rotating hollow shafts 16a, 16b. The vertical shaft 2 is rotated normally and reversely by switching the cluthes 19a, 19b. |
