EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING MATERIAL AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To produce an exhaust gas purifying material capable of reducing and removing efficiently nitrogen oxides from a combustion exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides and oxygen more than a theoretical reaction amount corresponding to an unburned portion consisting of such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen, hydrocarbon, etc. CONSTITUTION: This exhaust gas purifying material is composed of the first catalyst composed by carrying 0.2-15wt.% (expressed in terms of silver element) silver and/or silver compd. or their mixture as active species on a porous inorg. oxide and the second catalyst composed by carrying 1-30wt.% (expressed in terms of metal element) nickel oxide and/or sulfate thereof as the active species on the porous inorg. oxide. The first catalyst is disposed at an exhaust gas inflow side of the purifying material and the second catalyst is disposed at an outflow side.
