PURPOSE: To reduce high molecular electrolytic film thickness for a solid high molecular fuel cell for improving ion conduction, and lessen a battery voltage drop without any damage to the film by strengthening the peripheral area thereof with a fabric material. CONSTITUTION: The woven cloth 18 of Teflon (R) fiber is placed on the peripheral section of a Teflon (R) sheet S having flat surface. Then, a high molecular electrolytic solution is dropped thereon, so as to obtain the prescribed film thickness. Thereafter, the product so prepared is shelved at room temperature and dried in vacuum at approximately 80 deg.C, and a high molecular electrolytic film 1 with a reinforced section 19 is thereby provided. Furthermore, a gas diffusion electrode is jointed to the film 1, thereby providing a cell body formed out of a high molecular electrolyte-gas diffusion electrode jointed body having a gas diffusion layer 20 as well as a catalytic layer 21. A fuel cell, when assembled by use of the cell body, can withstand pressing and tightening forces, and the breakage of the film 1 can be prevented, as the peripheral section thereof is reinforced with a fabric material. |
