<p>PURPOSE: To provide a scanning method which determines the absolute area where the excitation pen of a polyphase system digitizer is positioned without generating a dead zone. CONSTITUTION: This digitizer is provided with the excitation pen, a detection loop formed of plural select conductors arranged on an insulating sheet in parellel, and a signal processing means which processes a voltage induced at the detection loop with the magnetic flux produced by the excitation pen; and the select conductors X1, X2,... are arranged so that one is common and the other is connected to a switching circuit at every specific pitch. Scanning is performed so as to sequentially select detection loops S1, S2,..., S(N-2) corresponding to absolute areas among absolute areas B1, B2..., B(N-1) formed of (N-2)th and Nth (N: integer larger than 3) among the conductors X1, X2..., XN; and the absolute area of the excitation pen 5 is determined according to the induced voltage developed at the detection loop.</p> |
