PURPOSE: To suppress movement of liquid crystal molecules accompanied with long-term driving and to prevent deterioration in driving characteristics. CONSTITUTION: In the production process of a liquid crystal display element, a glass substrate 2a after patterning of a transparent electrode is dipped in an etching liquid to form a rugged patterns M,... on the surface of the transparent electrode 3a (figure (a) and (b)). Then an inorg. insulating film 5a and org. orienting film 6a are formed to cover the transparent electrode 3a. The surface of the org. oriented film 6a has rugged patterns N,... based on the patterns M,.... The glass substrate 2a thus obtd. is used to assemble a liquid crystal cell and a liquid crystal is injected into the space between substrates. |
