A system and a method for processing audio data are provided to prevent audio processing from being repeatedly performed by inserting a code, which represents that corresponding audio data has already been processed, into the audio data. A method for processing audio data comprises a step of reading one frame of audio data from an audio output buffer to determine if the frame is the first frame(610). If the frame is the first frame, it is determined if the audio data is data for which audio processing has already been performed(620). If the audio data is data for which the audio processing has already been performed, the audio data is output through an audio output unit(630). If the audio data is not data for which the audio processing has already been performed, audio processing is performed for the audio data(660), and the processed data is output through the audio output unit(690).
