PURPOSE: To improve the yield of a high-performance magnetic head corresponding to high-density recording by improving the rear sealing glass. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic head includes a pair of ferrite substrates 1, 2 provided with magnetic materials 3, 4 having a high saturation magnetic flux density on the butt surfaces, a gap glass 5 provided in a gap part of the magnetic materials 3, 4 facing each other and a pair of the front and rear sealing glass 6, 7 sealing the substrates 1, 2. Crystallized glass having a coeff. of thermal expansion of (75 to 100)×10<-7> / deg.C at 30 to 300 deg.C and a working temp of 490 to 520 deg.C is used as the rear sealing glass 7. The compsn. of the rear sealing glass is formed of SiO2 =1 to 6%, B2 O3 =7 to 10%, PbO=60 to 78%, ZnO=10 to 25%, Al2 O3 =0 to 3%, ZrO2 =0 to 8%, BaO=0 to 3%.
