PURPOSE: To obtain a color filter suitable to mass-production and excellent in heat resistance with no need for an intricate process by using a specified compd. as the coupler. CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material having at least three silver halide emulsion layers each contg. at least one kind of coupler and a different color sensitivity on a light-transmissive substrate is pattern-exposed, color-developed, desilvered and washed with water to produce the color filter. In this case, at least one kind of coupler is a compd. shown by the formula. In the formula, R<1> is hydrogen atom or a substituent, R<2> is a substituent, and Z is a nonmetallic atom group necessary to form a nitrogen-contg. 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which has at least one dissociative group, and X is hydrogen atom or a group eliminable by the coupling reaction with the oxidant of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent. A color filter excellent in heat resistance, especially in the heat resistance of the cyanine dye, is obtained in this way. |
