PURPOSE: To measure the concentration of an additive in an electrolyte by an inexpensive facility in a maintenance-free way by obtaining a half-width from the change with time of the voltage of an electrolytic cell, and estimating the concentration based on the relation between the half-width and the concentration. CONSTITUTION: A half-width of the change with time of the voltage of an electrolytic cell is used to determine the concentration of an additive, for instance, glue or thiourea, etc. First, a predetermined amount of glue solution is added to an electrolyte to be measured, thereby to measure the relation between the half-width and the concentration of the glue. Then, an optional value is added to the concentration of the glue, a regression expression is obtained by the obtained half-width and logarithm of the concentration of the glue to which the optional value is added, and a square sum of a deviation from an estimated value is obtained. The procedure is repeated, thereby to obtain an added value making the square sum of the deviation to the estimated value minimum. The added value obtained in this manner and making the square sum of the deviation to the estimated value minimum is the concentration of the glue in the solution to be measured. |
