<p>PURPOSE: To provide an automatic bar code recognition device which can recognize a bar code with excellent accuracy and excellent responsiveness using a small number of bar code scanners. CONSTITUTION: Distances from bar code scanners 3a, 3b, and 3c to the center position of the upper face of an object to be detected and the distances from the bar code scanners 3a, 3b, and 3c to the center position of the side face of the object to be detected are computed based on the detected signals of a height sensor 6 and a TV camera 5 by an arithmetic means. The angles and the like of mirrors 4a, 4b, and 4c are controlled so that the bar code scanners 3a, 3b, and 3c are focused on the center position of the object upper face and the center position of the object side face based on the arithmetic result of the arithmetic means. Thereby, it is possible to recognize the bar code formed on merchandise or the like without human hands.</p> |
