PURPOSE: To allow a CATV subscriber viewing a CATV program to acquire additional information relating to a CATV program through the use of a system other than the CATV program service system. CONSTITUTION: A 2-way CATV system serves a CATV program from a CATV broadcast equipment 3 only to a CATV subscriber based on various data relating to a CATV subscriber installation in a database in a CATV data management section 4 and image and audio data of the CATV program are branched at a tap-off through a center TDMA equipment 5, a head end 6, a CATV transmission line 9 and amplifiers 8a, 8b, and e.g. in a CATV subscriber installation 11a, the data are reproduced by a TV 15 through a DSU 12. The transmission of additional information data in the personal computer communication system is controlled by a personal computer communication control section 2 and the additional information data is branched at a tap-off 10a via a digital exchange 7, the center TDMA equipment 5, the head end 6, and the CATV transmission line 9 and received by a PC 14. |
