<p>PURPOSE: To realize an image signal interpolation device having a simple constitution that the generation of folding distortion is evaded beforehand and the interpolation picture element value which is close to a true value can be determined. CONSTITUTION: By determining interpolation data D2 by using the predictive coefficient D7 corresponding to a class, folding distortion is evaded and interpolation data D2 which is close to a true value can be obtained. Further, by extracting the high-pass signals D4 of the picture elements a to 1 within a block by a high-pass filter means 3 and classifying the interpolation object picture elements based on the high-pass signals D4, the interpolation object picture elements can be accurately classified with few number of class. As a result, the constitution of a predictive coefficient generation means 6 can be simplified.</p> |
