PURPOSE: To provide a solid electrolyte-type gas sensor which prevents the deterioration of sensitivity due to the steam or dew in the ambience and improves the stability of sensitivity with time. CONSTITUTION: A working electrode layer 9 and a reference electrode layer 6 are constituted through a solid electrolyte layer 8 consisting of NASICON (cationic conductive substance) held therebetween. A surface layer part of the solid electrolyte layer 8 on the side of the working electrode layer 9 is constituted of a zirconia-rich layer formed out of zirconia alone or containing 90mol% or more of zirconia in this solid electrolyte-type gas sensor element. |
