PURPOSE: To produce a superior toner maintaining superior image quality over a long period of time and having a sharp particle size distribution of toner particles in a high yield. CONSTITUTION: A material contg. polyester resin and a colorant is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent in which the polyester resin is soluble and the resultant mother liquor for a toner is added to an aq. medium to which an inorg. dispersant and a surfactant have been added. Dispersion is started, an inorg. dispersant or this dispersant and a surfactant are further added during or after the dispersion and then the solvent is removed.
